On this day in 1848, Robert Blum was assassinated in Vienna due to his revolutionary efforts to democratize Germany. In 1918, Philipp Scheidemann proclaimed the Weimar Republic. Hitler attemped his Bierkellerputsch (Beer Hall putsch/coup) in Munich on November 8-9, 1923.
