Freedom Day in Malta is held on April 1. The anniversary of the closure of the English base, celebrated since 1979. This event in the first decade of the month April is annual.

If you ask Maltese people about football, you will find out that a great majority of them will side England or Italy. It might not be as simple as it sounds, however, when Malta was to choose who to become conquered by, the chose to become a British colony and were not forced into this decision. It is well known for the shipwrecks lying just off its coast, including several shipwrecked HMS submarines.
