The King of the Pacific kingdom of Tonga, Tupou VI, who was born on July 12, 1959, was crowned in the capital Nuku'alofa on June 4, 2015. The monarch inherited the throne in 2012 after the death of his brother, but the formal ceremony took place a few years later. The traditions of Tonga include the celebration of King Tupou I's Day, which is celebrated on December 4, his date of birth in 1845.
