Carnival in Angola is held on March 4. The main day of Carnival season is a public holiday in Angola, falling on the Tuesday before Ash Wednesday. This event in the first decade of the month March is annual.

Carnival lives up to its reputation as the big holiday of Angola. Luanda has its own Sambadrome, including a massive parade that will be attended by the president.
