One of the original wonders of the world was a garden. Nothing beats the joys of spending a full day in your garden potting new plants and getting everything in order. Gardening is one of the most rewarding activities there are.
A survey in 1999 listed “garden too small” as the eighth most common reason for hating a house. Americans spent $3.5 billion on gardening food in 2013. One of our slightly weird gardening facts is that people have been using gardening as a form of protest. Starting in New York in the eighties, this became a way to revitalize parks nobody cared for and to educate people through workshops and consultations. It serves as a protest against communities and municipalities that simply don’t care about public spaces.
