This day celebrates all five species of rhino - black, white, greater one-horned, Sumatran and Javan rhinos. World Rhino Day has been celebrated since 2011.
World Rhino Day is observed every year to raise awareness about the different species of rhinoceros around the world and the dangers they face.
The first World Rhino Day was announced by World Wildlife Fund South Africa in 2010, but the first Rhino Day was observed in 2011 and since then it is celebrated every year on 22 September.
