These spicy-sweet little cookies full of nutmeg, ginger, cinnamon, and cloves are a classic German holiday treat. Their name, Pfeffernusse, translates as “pepper nuts”, owing to their plump round shape and the unusual inclusion of black pepper in the delicious homemade dough.
