Apple trees take 4-5 years to produce their first fruit. A standard size apple tree starts bearing fruit 8-10 years after it is planted. A dwarf tree starts bearing fruit in 3-5 years. Apples will ripen six to ten times faster at room temperature than if they were refrigerated.
There are more than 8,000 varieties of apples – the largest variety of fruit to exist. Apple are one of the most widely grown tree fruit.
Apple Tree Day began as a celebration of an old apple tree, dating back two centuries! As time passed, this day turned into a celebration day by itself. On this day, we are all encouraged to learn more about apples and the importance of them in our meals.
