On November 13, 1901, Arturo Jauretche was born, an intellectual, militant and essayist who dedicated his life to reflecting on Argentine politics.
Today is commemorated in tribute to the birth of the intellectual, radical militant and official of the first Peronist government Arturo Jaureteche on National Thought Day. In 2004, the Legislative Branch sanctioned Law 25844, enacted by President Néstor Kirchner, which set the date to commemorate the notable and controversial Argentine thinker.
On November 13, 1901, Jauretche was born in Lincoln, province of Buenos Aires. An outstanding leader of the Radical Civic Union (UCR), he was an official in the second government of President Hipólito Yrigoyen in 1928 and, after the coup by Generals José Félix Uriburu and Agustín P. Justo, he joined the resistance of the nationalist dictatorship.
