In homage to Dr. Esteban Laureano Maradona, since 2001 every July 4th the National Day of the Rural Doctor is celebrated in Argentina.
In addition to the tribute to Esteban Laureano Maradona, there is recognition of the tasks of all those health professionals who are dedicated to caring for their patients in specific circumstances. Attention to those people who, due to variables such as geographic location and lack of resources, are marginalized and have fewer opportunities for medical care than those who live in urban areas, is highlighted here.
