San Salvador de Horta is the patron saint of apprentice shoemakers and Franciscans in Catalonia. He was born in Santa Coloma de Farnés (Gerona).
On August 6, the veneration of the Holy Savior is celebrated, which has its origin in the foundation of San Salvador in the Jujuy Valley. On August 6, the day of San Salvador was instituted as the patron saint of the Tacita de Plata, because, in the belief of the Catholic gospels, this day is the first day in which the teacher of Christianity demonstrated his divinity to some of his apostles.
The patron saint festivities of San Salvador, Fiestas Agostinas, are celebrated from August 1 to 6.
On August 3 in the morning, the “Commerce Parade” is held, another of the great activities of the festivities. It is an act promoted by the Government of San Salvador with the support of merchants and companies.
