On October 10, 2019, the American coffee chain Dunkin’ Donuts announced some terrific news for true donut lovers.
Given the fact that Donut Day in the United States of America has been a tremendous success among the people of the country over the past 5 years, they set themself the task of making this holiday an international one.
On the first Friday of June 2020, at Dunkin 'Donuts coffee shops around the world, guests are invited to receive a free donut when purchasing any drink. As known National Donut Day in the United States is celebrated on this day as a tribute to the charitable work of volunteers who were sent to France by the US Salvation Army in the 30s to help the soldiers. Helen Pervians and Margaret Sheldon found that battle-tested soldier helmets are great for frying up to seven donuts at a time. Then they began to be called Donut Dollies, and Donut Day holiday (Donut Day) appeared in 1938 as a token of gratitude for any selfless help.
