National Sports Day in El Salvador is held on October 14. Día Nacional del Deporte, la Recreación y la Educación Física - the second Saturday of the month of October. This event in the second decade of the month October is annual.

With 56 votes, in Plenary Session, the Legislative Decree was approved that declares the second Saturday of the month of October of each year as: "National Day of Sports, Recreation and Physical Education" (2011).
The initiative promoted by the General Institute of Sports of El Salvador (INDES), aims to stimulate the practice of sport at the national level, due to the positive influence it has on personality, by generating positive results, both in physical health and in the mind.
