The State Employment Service is a centralized system of state institutions, the activities of which are directed and coordinated by the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine.
The State Employment Service was created on the basis of the Decree of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic from 21.12.1990 ¹ 381 "About the state employment service in the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic" by restructuring the then existing employment service into a specialized service, whose tasks are to provide a comprehensive solution to issues related to the regulation of employment, career guidance, job placement, social support for temporarily unemployed citizens. The main legislative act regulating the activity of the State Employment Service is the Law of Ukraine "On Employment of Population" No. 5067-VI of 05.07.2012.
