During a match, a player on average runs 3 miles. Before tennis players used rackets, people would use the palm of their hands to hit the ball back and forth over the net. Before yellow tennis balls, they were white.
In order to promote the so-called white sport around the world, the International Tennis Federation (ITF) created a promotional initiative to celebrate "World Tennis Day" on March 4, 2013. To this end, several high-flying exhibitions are held annually throughout the world.
The organization's idea is that its 210 member national associations and federations will participate in the commemoration of this day as part of a campaign to promote the game of rackets.
