National celiac disease awareness day in Spain is held on May 27. This event in the third decade of the month May is annual.

May 16 is International Coeliac Awareness Day, a day to raise awareness and support for people with coeliac disease in order to normalize the lives of this group.
On this day, FACE (Federación de Asociaciones de Celiacos de España) and its member associations organize actions, campaigns and activities involving the whole society to raise awareness about this disease, which affects 1% of the Spanish population.
In Spain, this day has been celebrated for many years on May 27th. However, since 2023, FACE has joined with other European, American and Australian associations to celebrate the Day against celiac disease on May 16th. In doing so, they want to join forces and make the voice of this community heard more loudly around the world.
