Acámbaro is a baker's municipality. As part of the festivities of the Virgen del Refugio, patron saint of the town, the Lluvia de pan (rain of bread) is held, a festivity that has been celebrated in this Guanajuato town for more than 50 years. The famous Lluvia de pan (rain of bread) was born when a baker went to the traditional parade in honor of the Virgen del Refugio, and began to give bread to his customers.
