The Army of Nicaragua (Ejército de Nicaragua or EN) comprises the military forces of Nicaragua legally established in 1994, being the successor of the Sandinista Popular Army (Ejército Popular Sandinista or EPS) in whose organization its origins lie.

The EN is divided into four branches: the Land Force, the Air Force, the Naval Force and the Special Operations Command.

The "Day of the Nicaraguan Army" was established on September 2, in commemoration of the nominal day of foundation of the Army for the Defense of National Sovereignty (Ejército Defensor de la Soberanía Nacional or EDSN) in 1927 by Augusto C. Sandino to confront the U.S. military occupation.
