Canton of Siquirres is the third canton of the province of Limón in Costa Rica and was created by law n° 11 of September 19, 1911. It is the epicenter of the province of Limón and its lands are low so its average temperature is around 29°C. It has a territorial extension of 860.19 km² and a population of 53,459 inhabitants (2005 est.).
It is a mainly agricultural canton and its most important activity is the production of bananas and pineapples. It is connected by road with the rest of the province and the country. In recent years it has become important tourism visiting the rapids of the Pacuare and Reventazón rivers.
