They say that behind a good boss there is always a great secretary. To thank them for the great work they do every day, every September 30 is celebrated the Secretary's Day in Venezuela. The origin of this celebration can be traced back to 1952, when this recognition became international.
The Secretary's Day is celebrated on September 30 in honor of the birth of Christopher Sholes, creator of the first typewriter and the QWERTY keyboard in the 19th century, in 1873, dating back to the second stage of the Industrial Revolution.
The recognition of secretaries became international in 1952, after a day was created to commemorate them. It was Maria Barrett, president of the association, who instituted Secretary's Day. She was assisted in this by C. King Woodbridge, president of Dictaphone Corporation, and Harry F. Klemfuss, a businessman.
