In 2007, the National Ministry of Education incorporated the Student Solidarity Day into the academic calendar in commemoration of the students and the teacher of the ECOS school who lost their lives in a road accident while they were returning from a solidarity activity at School No. 375 of El Paraisal, in the province of Chaco. Relatives and friends of the victims organized themselves in the fight to demand that Road Safety be a State policy and to reaffirm that these are avoidable tragedies.
It is proposed that, during the week of October 8 to 12, teachers and students develop activities for the promotion and dissemination of solidarity actions in their communities.
