Journalists' Day in Uruguay

This day, enshrined in Laws No. 16,154 and No. 19,715, establishes October 23 of each year as the Day of Journalists and Media Workers in all areas, which is declared a non-working holiday for such workers, with the right to receive their usual remuneration.

The written press of Montevideo, group 18, subgroup 2.1, in its Fourth Round 2010, establishes the day of the worker of the sector, for all the workers included in this subgroup, as a paid holiday, and in case the needs of the service require them to work, the companies must exchange the day for another day off.
