National Parks Day in Argentina

The National Parks Day is commemorated every November 6, since the donation made by the expert Francisco Moreno to Argentina in 1903. The scientist and explorer donated 7,500 hectares of his property, an area that 31 years later would be known as Nahuel Huapi National Park.

Thus, Argentina became the first Latin American country and the third in the world to establish protected areas for the conservation of natural resources.

In the province of Córdoba, in addition to the 26 natural protected areas (NPAs) and the two biogeographic corridors under the responsibility of the Secretariat of Environment, we have three national parks: Quebrada del Condorito National Park and National Reserve, Traslasierra National Park and National Reserve, and Ansenuza National Park.
