Every November 8, employees and workers of municipalities all over the country commemorate this date. It is the day that commemorates the creation in 1959 of the Confederación de Obreros y Empleados Municipales de Argentina (COEMA), being its promoter the leader of Avellaneda, Gerónimo Izetta.
COEMA was born in the heart of the union revolution during the presidency of Arturo Frondizi and with the 62 Organizations as a base, with the purpose of organizing and unifying all the federations, unions and municipal unions of Argentina.
