International Inventor's Day

International Inventor's Day is celebrated on November 9, in honor of actress and inventor Hedy Lamarr, creator of spread spectrum, a modulation technique used in telecommunications. This date was proclaimed by German inventor and entrepreneur Gerhard Muthenthaler.

National Inventors' Days are celebrated on different days in different countries. In Germany, Austria and Switzerland, Inventors' Day is celebrated on November 9.
