November 22 is Geographer's Day in Argentina, in honor of the death of Francisco Pascasio Moreno, a scientist, naturalist, politician, botanist, explorer and geographer, who died in 1919.
The date was established in 1999, from the First International Humboldt Meeting, which was sponsored by the Geographical Union of Latin America, the Ministry of Education of the Nation, and the Secretariat of Education of the Province of Buenos Aires.
