Nutritionists are the health professionals who establish dietary plans depending on the patient's stage of life (childhood, adolescence, pregnancy, adulthood or the elderly) or when a person has high triglycerides, high cholesterol, uric acid, HIV / AIDS, cancer, lupus or rheumatologic conditions due to an illness.
In Mexico, the Day of the Nutrition Professional has been commemorated every January 27 since 1975, when the Mexican Association of Nutritionists (AMENAC) was founded.
This day is celebrated with the purpose of recognizing the work of nutritionists, which goes beyond developing diets for weight loss.
Nutritionists provide tools to the population to have an adequate weight, through a healthy diet and, in this way, avoid malnutrition, or obesity and overweight.
