Ecuador celebrates today February 27th the Day of Civism, Day of the Ecuadorian Army, Day of National Unity and Day of the National Hero, four moments of historical content that are part of nationality to commemorate the Battle of Tarqui of 1829 that covered of Glory to the Homeland.
On February 27, 1829, the Battle of Tarqui was fought between the Great Colombian troops and the Peruvian Army. Today we commemorate anniversary of the epic combat, a date that has been identified in the Ecuadorian civic calendar.
And by consecrating this Day of Ecuadorian Civism, homage is paid to the Ecuadorian Army, placing heroes such as Bolivar, Sucre, Calderon, Eloy Alfaro, Vargas, Julio Andrade, Coral, Edmundo Chiriboga, Hugo Ortiz, Galo Molina and many others like the heroes of the Cordillera del Condor and the Alto Cenepa in 1995 at the top of the values.
