21 January - Quebec Flag Day
Quebec is home to one of the largest winter festivals in the world. Quebec City is home to the oldest church in Canada. Quebec is well known for producing maple syrup, for its comedy, and for making hockey one of the most popular sports in Canada. It is also renowned for its culture; the province produces literature, music, films, TV shows, festivals, folklore, and more.
Quebec's flag was the first provincial flag officially accepted by Canada. Quebec's flag was officially adopted on January 1, 1948. Quebec celebrates it's adoption each year on this day. Many of the other provincial flags were adopted in the 1960s, with Nova Scotia's flag not officially adopted until 2013.
