It is a commemorative day dedicated to the youngest children who represent the future of Kosterikan society. Institutions develop activities for the well-being of children and perform cognitive tasks. In the family environment, it is customary to give toys to children.
Costa Rica celebrates Children's Day every "September 9" to raise awareness about the importance of ensuring and respecting the rights of minors. Under the government of Don Teodoro Picado, this celebration was established by decree of July 12, 1946.
