1 October - Pancasila Sanctity Day in Indonesia
Pancasila Sanctity Day commemorates a putsch by pro-communist officers of the Indonesian national armed forces on September 30, 1965, which failed by the end of the day. They managed to kidnap and then kill the six warlords and their bodies were dumped into the Lubang Bujai pit. There is now a monument to Panzasila-Shakti at this site, and annual ceremonies are held in memory of these martyrs. Pancha Sila-the five principles underlying the Indonesian model of building a "justice and prosperity" society: belief in one God; a just and civilized humanity; the unity of the country; democracy guided by a sound policy of consultation and representation; and the realization of social justice for all the people of Indonesia.
