It is a tribute dedicated to teachers, professors, educators and professors of the country. It is a way of thanking them for the work, effort and dedication of these professionals who contribute so much to the progress of society.
Education is the pride and wealth of our country. Through it, satisfactory standards of living have been achieved and the foundations for the development of Costa Rica have been laid.
Teacher's Day was instituted in Costa Rica on October 7, 1915 by Decree No.16. It is celebrated on "November 22" in honor of Bachelor Mauro Fernández Acuña, who was born on November 22, 1843. Mauro was one of the greatest Costa Rican teachers, who laid the foundations of modern education in the country.
