A video game is an electronic game in which one or more players interact, by means of a controller, with an electronic device that displays video images. This device, known generically as a "platform," may be a computer, arcade machine, video game console, or handheld device, such as a cell phone, smartphone, or tablet. The video game industry is one of the leading industries in the world of art and entertainment.
Every August 29 is celebrated the World Video Game Day or Gamer's Day, a celebration that emerged in 2008 by the main magazines specialized in video games in the market (Hobby Consoles, PlayMania and PC Mania), to recognize video games as entertainment, industry and lifestyle.
Finally, it should be noted that Gamer's Day has a greater impact in Spanish-speaking countries, since if we look in other parts of the world we realize that they have other dates or that it may not even exist. For example, in the United States, National Video Game Day is celebrated on September 12.
