Welcome to the Rosenheim Autumn Festival, which has been celebrating tradition and cheerful fellowship since 1861. Originally started as an agricultural exhibition, the festival has developed into one of the largest folk festivals in south-eastern Upper Bavaria, with over a million enthusiastic visitors every year.
The festivities take place on the Loreto meadow, which once lay outside the city limits. The festival kicks off on the last Saturday in August and runs for a whopping sixteen days. It begins with a magnificent procession of traditional costumes through the town center, accompanied by three gun salutes and the traditional barrel tapping.
Visitors can experience culinary highlights in two large festival halls as well as at food stands and in cozy tents. Numerous rides provide additional fun. An absolute highlight of the festival is the impressive firework display that lights up the sky on the evening of the second Thursday.
The organizers attach great importance to moderate prices and offer special family days with reduced prices. The Rosenheim Autumn Festival proudly presents itself as "The friendly Wiesn" and promises unforgettable moments for young and old.
