Altländer Blossom Festival in Jork

The Altländer Blütenfest in Jork is an annual event that attracts visitors from all over the world.

Every year on the first full weekend in May, the Alte Land is a hive of activity. The Altländer Blütenfest in Jork has been part of the region's tradition and culture for more than thirty years. The Altländer Blütenfest combines tradition and culture in one of the largest contiguous fruit-growing areas in Europe. The Altländer have been crowning their Blossom Queen since 1981.

It is celebrated throughout the town every year on the first full weekend in May. The festival begins on Saturday with a varied music and dance program. A stage is set up in Jork with a music and entertainment program and there are lots of arts and crafts to see.

Young ladies from the Altes Land region can apply for the office of Altländer Blütenkönigin. A jury then selects the new queen from the applications.
