Lancashire was established in 1183. Lancashire Day celebrates the culture, history, and lifestyle of Lancashire in the U.K. The county covers an area of 3,075 sq km – making it one of the largest shire counties. 80 per cent of Lancashire officially classed as rural. Lancashire folk are among the most inventive in the world with creations including the jet engine, jelly babies, Meccano and even the word dinosaur hailing from our fair county.
