After the end of Ramadan month, the ninth month of lunar year, muslims keep the fast and Ruza khayit or Eid al-Fitr is celebrated on the first three days of new shavval month. On the first day of khayit at dawn all men go to Mosque and do the first (morning) pray. Charity is given to the poor and indigent, poor families. Sacrifice is made. The following days people visit the cemeteries, read prayers and benedictions to the soul of the departed.
Eid al-Fitr is a public holiday. It is a day off for the general population, and schools and most businesses are closed. Eid ul Fitr is a time to share great food with family and friends.
