7 February - National Fettuccine Alfredo Day in USA
The dish was named by an Italian restaurateur, Alfredo Di Lelio, at his restaurant Alfredo on the Via della Scrofa in Rome in 1914. February 7th is National Fettuccine Alfredo Day.
Alfredo di Lelio, an Italian restaurateur, created Fettuccine Alfredo in 1908. After his wife had given birth to their first son that year, she did not have an appetite. Alfredo began working here and inventing dishes and recipes, bringing the place to fame. In order to solve a health issue with Alfredo's pregnant wife, the chef invented the famous Fettuccine Alfredo, which healed her lack of appetite. The dish ended up in the menu and the rest is history.
