The Milky Way is a huge collection of stars, dust and gas. It's called a spiral galaxy because if you could view it from the top or bottom, it would look like a spinning pinwheel. The Sun is located on one of the spiral arms, about 25,000 light-years away from the center of the galaxy. The closest galaxy to the Milky Way is Andromeda, which is around 2.6 million light years away from us. Many galaxies are more than 100,000 light years across in distance. It takes over two hundred million years for the sun to orbit the center of the galaxy. This is called a galactic year.
The Milky Way bar was created in 1923 by Frank Mars. It is covered in chocolate and caramel. It is best known for being made by Mars, Incorporated and for being ranked 6 out of 25 in the top chocolate bars in the United States.
