Famous French chocolatier Henri Le Roux creates the first caramel candy after attending a Swiss culinary school in the 1960s. However, Chocolate Caramel has been found to have a long history. It was Milton Hershey who has been widely credited for the making of the chocolate caramel. He has introduced the recipes for chocolate caramels as early as the 1880s. He soon began experimenting with a lot of ways to improve the caramel candy.
Some accounts suggest that the most basic form of caramel was first made by the Arabic nation in the year 1,000 AD by the mixing of sugar and water to form a crystallized, hardened form of the candy. They first referred to it as a loving term that translates to some version of “ball of sweet.”
