Created by In Defense of Animals (IDA) in 1991, Animal Rights Awareness Week seeks to honor animals worldwide. It provides an opportunity to bring public attention and awareness to animal needs, rights, and wants.
Animal Rights Awareness Week (ARAW) originated in 1999 by the animal rights group, In Defense of Animals. The goal is to help raise awareness of animal rights by educating the public about the basic needs of animals around the world, and to advocate for the humane and compassionate treatment of all animals.
