Panama Biologist's Day

In Panama, August 28 was chosen to praise biologists, who are distinguished by their logical reasoning, analytical capacity and management of techniques and technology.

It should be noted that, in 1990, the members of the College of Biologists of Panama (COBIOPA) promoted the celebration of this date. Small activities dedicated to the students of the School of Biology at the University of Panama had usually been organized.

In 2012, the members of the Board of the Faculty of Natural, Exact Sciences and Technology of the University of Panama supported said resolution and accepted it as their own, also designating the establishment of the Biologist's Day on August 28 of each year.

The Biology degree of the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Technology was approved in 1992 and completely reorients the training of Panamanian biologists, trying to convey through its central line to the professional that they form a holistic education in all topics that should be within the scope of this profession.
