On April 25, 1997, Talia Day was established to pay tribute to the famous Mexican singer. Its idea belongs to the Latino community of Los Angeles, California, USA. Specifically, the Los Angeles City Council, decided that every April 25 would be celebrated as International Talia Day in Los Angeles, claiming that the singer was an "example of a Latina woman."
The day subsequently spread beyond Los Angeles, and today Talia showcases and talks about celebrating the day on her Instagram account.
