On July 25, the feast of Santiago Apostle, the city of Vitoria-Gasteiz celebrates the Day of the Blouse and the Neska, also known as 'Garlic Day'. This event is the prelude to one of the important festivals celebrated in the city: the festivities of the Virgen Blanca, which takes place from August 4 to 9.
The protagonists of this celebration are the Blusas, as the members of the "cuadrillas de mozos" of the city are called. Festive morning in which thousands of vitorian@s will comply with the tradition of buying a string of garlic, in the stalls installed in the streets Portal del Rey and Cuesta de San Francisco, and walk around with it around their necks until they return home.
