The Procession of the Flag (La Procesión de la Bandera) is a civic-military ceremony held in the city of Tacna on August 28th every year in order to commemorate the date on which the province of Tacna rejoined Peru after the period of Chilean occupation under which it was for almost half a century (1880-1929) as a result of the War of the Pacific.
