Technical Education Day in Argentina

Technical Education Day is celebrated today in commemoration of the creation of the National Council for Technical Education (CONET) on November 15, 1959, which gave technical and vocational education a leading role in the Argentine education system. This autarchic organism was in charge of schools and institutes and, among its functions, it submitted to the Ministry of Education projects of study plans and programs, as well as graduates' files for the granting of degrees and professional qualification.

With the transfer of the institutions to the jurisdictions in 1995, the Council was replaced by the National Institute of Technological Education (INET), under the National Ministry of Education, which currently regulates the federal policies of the Technical Professional Education (ETP) modality.
