Every year at the end of September, literature finds its way into the unique cultural sites of the Rheingau, selected wine press halls, wineries, castles and palaces. Since 1993, the autumn grape harvest in the Rheingau has been joined by a special "wine harvest", the Rheingau Literature Festival. From the rich harvest of current literary events, a selection is pressed and prepared for the public to enjoy. The dialog with the writers is the focus of each event, followed by the reading.
Traditionally, the readings are complemented by literary wine walks through the Rheingau, where literary texts about the Rheingau are read aloud at selected resting points. In this way, the beauty of the landscape can be combined with literary treasures and the enthusiasm of the poets can be traced.
