On the Sunday after Pentecost, the Catholic Church celebrates the feast of the Holy Trinity every year (known as "Trinitatis" in the Protestant Church).
The feast of the Holy Trinity found its way into the church liturgy as early as the 9th century. At that time, it was first celebrated in Benedictine monasteries. It was officially introduced in the Catholic Church in 1334 and celebrated on the first Sunday after Pentecost. In many Catholic regions, this festival is celebrated with solemn processions. The liturgical color for this feast is white, the color of purity.
