Intercultural Week in Mainz

The state capital of Mainz organizes the annual Intercultural Week (IKW) in September. Every year, it offers all residents of Mainz the opportunity to celebrate with each other beyond everyday encounters, to inform themselves and to learn more about each other.

The Intercultural Week opens with a folklore evening at which Mainz clubs present a colorful mixture of music and dance from different countries.

Mainz stands for tolerance, diversity and democracy. During this week, the Office for Migration and Integration, the Advisory Board for Migration and Integration, Mainz migrant organizations and initiatives active in migration work in Mainz will be presenting themselves.
