The Autumn Fair or Herbstdult in Passau is an important folk festival that attracts numerous visitors every year. As one of the two major folk festivals in Passau, alongside the Maidult in spring, the Dult has become an integral part of Passau life. The tradition goes back to the Middle Ages, and since 1816 the Dult has been held in the monastery garden, now known as the Kleiner Exerzierplatz.
The Herbstdult offers a varied mix of classic rides such as the Ferris wheel and merry-go-rounds as well as new attractions that delight young and old alike.
The Dult spoils its guests with a variety of regional culinary specialties, including cheese and pretzels, roasted almonds and festival beer from Passau's breweries.
In the cozy beer tents, you can celebrate with friends and family, enjoy the convivial atmosphere and experience traditional Bavarian cuisine.
A highlight of the Herbstdult is the traditional costume parade, which is one of the largest in Bavaria and takes place during the Maidult.
For families, there is a special children's afternoon with numerous activities for the little ones, while oldie fans get their money's worth on the oldie evening. The traditional Dult fireworks display, another highlight of the festival, attracts many enthusiastic spectators every year.
